One
of the principal criteria for Oxford Bus Company's new
fleet of 11 Mercedes Citaro single deck buses was to create
a pleasant and relaxing environment for the travelling
public.
Altro Transflor, with a combination of
Paint Box and customer service that
went the extra mile, helped Oxford
Bus achieve just that!
The new fleet is fitted throughout
with Altro Transflor safety flooring in
a bespoke colour selected from Altro's new Paint
Box range, an on-line service that allows operators
and builders the freedom to design their own colour scheme
from a comprehensive range of base colours and up to three
chip colours.
Ray Stenning of Best Impressions was engaged to
produce the designs for the new Mercedes buses.
"In looking for a floor that would reflect the company's image and the environment
we were creating, we looked at several flooring manufacturers,” he said. “It
was Altro Transflor who reacted best to our requirements for
a floor that would complement the red exterior livery and the seating moquette
we chose, as well as the performance to stand up to the punishing environment
of a bus interior.

Altro gave the service and back up, offering
the colours and pattern we wanted, and they were willing to work
on getting the colours right for us, supplying a range of samples
before manufacture.
“In addition, Altro Transflor went
through hoops with Mercedes to demonstrate to them that the Altro
floor would provide the performance required. They went the extra
mile and, of all the manufacturers, they
were the most in tune with designers' needs.”
