CLEANING

Installing flash (coving)
Differential movement between subfloors and adjoining vertical surfaces can cause weakness in coverings, sometimes resulting in water penetration.

The best practice to avoid this hazard is to flash (cove) floor covering between horizontal and vertical surfaces wherever possible.

When floor covering is up on a wall, it must be supported underneath by an existing metal cove or Altro cove former.

Altro cove formers are available in a range of sizes to fit most requirements. Contact your Altro dealer for details.

Ensure walls are solid, smooth, dry and free of all paint, oil, etc.

Fit cove former tightly along join between surfaces, carefully following supplier instructions.

Apply contact adhesive to surfaces to be covered and back of floor covering.

Press covering firmly into place. Use hand roller to eliminate all trapped air. Trim as necessary.

Fit cove former tightly along joint between surfaces, according to suppliers instructions.

Apply contact adhesive to surfaces to be covered and back of floor covering. A hot air tool may be used to make floor covering more pliable in awkward applications.

Press material firmly into place as with straight flash (coving).
